Code of conduct.

Purpose:
Latinos en San Antonio is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where members can grow and succeed. This Code of Conduct outlines behavioral expectations, responsibilities, and procedures for addressing violations to ensure a thriving organization.
1. Expected Conduct
All members of Latinos en San Antonio are expected to:
Act with integrity, professionalism, and respect toward others.
Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Collaborate positively to support the organization’s goals.
Represent the organization in a positive manner both on and off campus.
2. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are not allowed and may result in disciplinary action:
Sexual Harassment or Violence: Unwanted advances, inappropriate physical contact, sexual assault, non-consensual sharing of explicit materials, or any behavior involving a lack of consent.
Harassment or Discrimination: Demeaning or harmful actions based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
Violence or Threats: Physical or verbal actions that harm or intimidate others.
Dishonesty: Fraud or misrepresentation of the organization or its activities.
Disruptive Behavior: Actions that interfere with meetings, events, or the well-being of members.
Possession of Prohibited Items: Bringing weapons, drugs, or illegal substances to organization events.
Retaliation: Taking adverse actions against anyone who reports a violation in good faith.
3. Member Responsibilities
Members must:
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and remain in good standing with the university.
Be free of disciplinary sanctions or investigations conflicting with the organization’s values.
Treat all members respectfully, regardless of differences.
Follow university policies, local and Federal laws, as well as this Code of Conduct.
4. Reporting Violations
Concerns or violations can be reported to the leadership team at latsa.utsa@gmail.com.
Reports will be handled confidentially and investigated promptly.
Anonymous reporting is allowed.
Retaliation against individuals who file a report is prohibited.
5. Investigation and Disciplinary Actions
The leadership team will review and investigate reports impartially.
Disciplinary actions may include:
Verbal Warning: A private discussion to address minor infractions.
Written Warning: A documented notice outlining consequences for further misconduct.
Probation: Limited participation in activities for a specified period.
Suspension: Temporary removal from the organization.
Permanent Removal: Revocation of membership.
Referral to University Authorities: For severe violations.
6. Conflict Resolution
Conflicts should be resolved respectfully and in good faith. Mediation may be facilitated by the leadership team if necessary to maintain a healthy organizational culture.
7. Acknowledgment
By joining Latinos en San Antonio, members agree to this Code of Conduct and understand that violations may result in disciplinary action.
